JUAN MANUEL MARQUEZ NOW PROMOTING IN MEXICO, MIGHT RETURN FOR AN EXHIBITION BOUT…

Juan Manuel Marquez was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame last summer, with the international boxing community unanimously agreeing that the four-weight Mexican great deserved to be enshrined in the Canastota, NY-based hall of fame.

Life after boxing has provided new beginnings for Marquez, including launching his own promotional company based out of Mexico City, which debuts on February 8 live on ProBox TV.

‘Dinamita’ discussed his love affair with boxing, and his hopes for the new venture. “I miss boxing, I love boxing, so I have to channel that energy into the next generation in Mexico City and Mexico as a whole. That is where I am from and I love so it means a lot to me to help boxing in Mexico City.

“I am excited for JMM’s first promotion on February 8 in Mexico City on ProBox TV. There are some great prospects like Guillermo Keb and Jaime Osuna. I am excited for them and I wish them great things for the future.

“I am happy to be able to guide these fighters on the right path in boxing and I hope that brings them great success.”

Mexico continues to dominate the world of boxing, with fighters such as Canelo Alvarez continuing to be on the lips of boxing purists around the globe.

Marquez, noted his preferred favorite fighters to watch when also asked about partaking in a potential exhibition in a similar fashion to what Marco Antonio Barrera participated in with Ricky Hatton in 2022.

The 4-weight world champion stated, “There are lots of great Mexican fighters right now. I really like Juan Francisco Estrada and Emanuel Navarrete. They are both exciting fighters that are always in great fights. Mexico has great champions, and I am happy to see all their success.

“I am not sure about an exhibition, but I do miss boxing. So who knows what the future holds.”
