Andy Vences returns July 9th in Lemoore, CA

Undefeated prospect and one of the most popular boxers in the Bay Area, Andy “El Tiburon” Vences of San Jose, California, is set to return to the ring on Saturday, July 9 at the Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino in Lemoore, California in a “Solo Boxeo Tecate” show presented by Top Rank.

Vences (15-0, 10 KOs) will be looking for his second win of 2016 when he takes on Moises Delgadillo (15-15-2, 8 KOs) of Guadalajara, Mexico in an eight round bout.

Vences, 25, last fought on February 13 of this year in Studio City, California and took home a eight round unanimous decision win over Yardley Juarez of Mexico.

Vences was coming into the fight with five consecutive knockout wins and has become a more aggressive and stronger boxer since he started training with Gabe Flores in Stockton, California.

“I feel like I am becoming a much stronger fighter with Gabe in my corner and is well worth the ninety minute drive every day from home to his gym,” said Vences.

Last week they took an even longer drive as he went to Southern California to spar with undefeated world-ranked Oscar Valdez in his gym in Carson, California.

“It was really great for me to spar with Oscar Valdez. He’s one of the best fighters in the world and it was very enjoyable to learn from one the best. He is very strong and very quick,” said Vences, who got to spar three-times with Valdez during the week in Carson.

Valdez and his team were also very thankful for the work they got from Andy and his team.

“I want to thank my friend Andy Vences and his team for coming from so far away to spar with me. This is going to help both of us to keep growing as boxers,” said Valdez.

Vances returned to San Jose over the weekend on Sunday. He was honored by the San Jose Giants of the Pacific League, where he also threw out the first pitch of the game.

“I was very happy to be in the field with the team and get in some batting practice, I want to thank everyone that made this possible and it’s something I will always remember,” said Vences.

Vences is only five weeks away from his next fight and will continue to work hard to get in the best possible shape to give his fans another great fight.
