Alejandro Luna looking to get top 5 lightweight this summer
Undefeated lightweight Alejandro ” El Charro” Luna (20-0 15KOs) is nearing a title shot as he is ranked 10th by the IBF and 15th by the WBA.
“Right now we are back in the gym training and it looks like we are going to get a top 5 lightweight ranked by, I believe the WBC, we’re in the gym, we’re working hard, we’re sparring and we’re ready!” said the lightweight prospect fromBellflower , CA.
For Luna, the biggest battle so far was career choice as his nickname suggests “El Charro”, which translate to English as Mexican cowboy, Luna has a passion for the outdoors and riding horses.
“My nickname they call me ‘El Charro’, which is Mexican cowboy. It is funny, because when I was a kid I grew up with my dad competing in Mexican rodeos, growing up I juggled both sports.”
Luna explained that when the time came to decide he choose boxing over riding steers.
Luna hopes to return this summer on a Premier Boxing Champions card.
