Denis Lebedev unifies IBF and WBA Cruiserweight title
Widely considered the best cruiserweight in the world Denis Lebedev (29-1, 22 KOs) scored a spectacular second round TKO over IBF champion Victor Emilio Ramirez (22-3-1, 17 KOs) on Saturday night at the Khodynka Ice Palace in Moscow, Russia to unify two of the four major titles in the division. Lebedev dropped Ramirez in the second round with the bout being stopped shortly there after.
Cruiserweight Dmitry Kudryashov (19-1, 19 KOs) responded well to his first career loss with a fourth round destruction of Julio Cesar dos Santos (30-6, 27 KOs). Kudryashov dropped the overmatched Brazilian in the second and fourth round with Dos Santos’ corner throwing the towel in the fourth.
Light heavyweights, Dmitry Bivol (7-0, 6 KOs) outclassed WBA interim world champion Felix Valera (13-1, 12 KOs) as he picked up a decision in his biggest test to date. Bivol dropped Valera in round six, but the tough Valera stuck around to hang around for a decision. The judges scored the bout 119-107, 119-107, 116-111 all in favor of Bivol.
