SF’s LaRon Mitchell headlines first card Friday

One of the sport of boxing’s good guys, heavyweight LaRon Mitchell (12-0 12KOs) is headlining his first card in Southern California at the DoubleTree in Ontario, CA. Mitchell, who trains out of Fire in the Ring Boxing Gym in San Francisco, CA, a gym that is free to anyone under the age of 18 years-old, recently got married and is taking a year off from being a public school teacher to focus on his career as a professional boxer.

Mitchell, a former Olympic alternate in 2012, has also in the past year sparred Malik Scott, Gerald Washington, Charles Martin, Dominic Breazeale and Deontay Wilder.

Mitchell, who is managed by Andy Nance and trained by San Francisco legend, Jimmy Ford, is looking to savor every moment of this journey.
