Meet local Tucson fighters during the Noche De Boxeo pre-fight press conference at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 12 at Casino Del Sol’s Paradiso Lounge.

Hall of Fame Promoter Bob Arum’s Top Rank returns to Tucson on Aug. 6, with a nationally televised event featuring Juan “Baby Bull” Diaz and Trevor McCumby in separate bouts at Casino Del Sol, a boxing stronghold in the city.  Since its first boxing event in 2003, which featured future boxing hall of famer Fernando Vargas against Tony Marshall, Casino Del Sol has been a premier destination for boxing promoters and fans. The Casino’s Event Center will serve as the stage for Noche De Boxeo on Aug. 6, a Nationally Televised event, featuring an undercard packed with local Tucson boxing talent.

To say that Tucson is rife with boxing history would be an understatement. More than 50 world champions have fought in rings erected around “The Old Pueblo.” On Aug. 6, boxing fans will witness the rise of local Tucson boxers on their way to their own championship titles.

Many promoters have come and gone in Tucson, showcasing national talent, but neglecting to expose the growing crop of homegrown fighters from within the city. Not since the 1970s has the pool of boxing talent been so deep, and Tucson boxing fans will finally get the opportunity to support their own future champions at Noche De Boxeo.

The press conference will include the following local fighters; Alfonso Olvera, Jensen Ramirez, Albert Alvarez, Jesus Arevalo, Mike Martinez and Jesse Ruiz. Michelle Rosado will host the press conference.

Michelle Rosado is the event liaison for Top Rank and Casino Del Sol. Dubbed “Raging Babe” by the Phoenix New Times, Rosado is known throughout Arizona and the nation for producing spectacular, quality, sold-out events, including past events in Tucson, where she built relationships and laid the foundation for Aug. 6Noche De Boxeo event.

The press conference is open to the public on Tuesday, July 12 at 11:30 a.m. at Casino Del Sol’s Paradiso Lounge. Tickets for Noche De Boxeo may be purchased at the casino website, casinodelsol.com or at the Casino’s Gift Shop.
