LIGHTWEIGHT CONTENDER BAHODIR MAMADJANOV NOW FIGHTING OUT OF THE SALITA STABLE

Bahodir Mamadjanov hails from Uzbekistan, and a quick glance at his resume tells you he is a willing and capable warrior. The 29 year old lefty, who campaigns in the super lightweight class, has been in with opposition of known quality since turning professional in 2011, and that trend figures to continue now that he has signed on with young gun promoter Dmitriy Salita.

Mamadjanov (19-2 with 11 KOs) opened eyeballs galore when he upset 14-0 Angelo Santana, a highly touted prospect, in 2014. He didn’t get the nod in 2015, when he clashed with Richard Commey, who will shortly vie for the IBF 135 pound title.

The fighter, living and training in Texas, is enjoying a two fight win streak, as he added the scalps of “Chop Chop” Corley and Gilbert Venegas, and Salita expects much more of that from the hitter who doesn’t fear testing himself against the top tier elite.

“Mamadjanov has shown that he is world class,” Salita said, “and he is now more focused than ever. He wants to fight and beat the best lightweights in the world. We will keep him busy with a plan to land a meaningful fight in the near future.

Future foes will need to be ready to eat a persistent jab from Mamadjanov, who will look to land a crisp straight left to make max impact. He also smashes with both hands to the body, and enjoys coming forward, taking it to his adversary.

Expect Mamadjanov to work his way steadily up the ratings ladder, and in short order, get a crack at a crown.
