Leo Santa Cruz outlasts Carl Frampton to win rematch

Leo Santa Cruz (33-1-1, 18 KOs) evened the score against Carl Frampton (23-1, 14 KOs) with a twelve round majority decision to reclaim the WBA featherweight title on Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

The fight was competitive throughout and was a reverse of the first bout as Santa Cruz started strong with Frampton coming on late. The question was, was it too late?

The judges scored the bout 114-114, which was overruled by two judges who had the bout 115-113.

A trilogy is now likely in the works.
