*”SIR” MARCUS BROWNE DEFEATS THOMAS “TOP DOG” WILLIAMS JR.*
The Light-Heavyweight bout between Browne and Williams Jr. was full of controversy, knock downs, but ultimately ended in a knock out. In round one Browne knocked Williams down, and while he was going down Browne hit Williams an additional time, resulting in him losing a point. Williams was knocked down again in round 4, then finally knocked out 0:42 into round 6.
This is what Browne had to say: “It didn’t look like he went down, so I made sure he went down. He was trying to stand up so I pushed him down a little more. I didn’t see his glove on the floor. I won’t do that you, Adonis Stevenson, just give me a chance. We were not 100 percent, but we were 85 percent and we’ll gain the rest by next performance. I want Adonis Stevenson, and I want that strap. I felt pretty good in there. I wasn’t as good as I could have been. I had a long layoff. I could see all his shots coming so I didn’t really get hit by anything. That went mostly to plan. I wasn’t looking forward to the Adonis Stevenson fight so I wasn’t trying to knock him out, but the opportunity came. I’m ready for Adonis.”
Thomas Williams complained of an injured jaw, and was unavailable for comment after the fight.
