In front of a nearly sold-out crowd at the Richmond Auditorium in Richmond, CA, Squarevision Entertainment returned with “Redemption in Richmond”.

The main event saw Luis Garcia (7-1-1 5KOs) of Richmond, CA defeat Julian Bautista (2-3-1 1KO) by a narrow margin to advance to the finals of the Square Warriors junior welterweight tournament. The bout was competitive throughout with Bautista landing a big left hook that nearly shut Garcia’s eye in the final round.

The co-main event saw Jhonathan Zamudio (1-4-4) and Eddie Diaz (3-6-3 1KO) fight to a split draw in a bout that was also a part of the Square Warriors junior welterweight tournament. Zamudio started fast, but a cut over his right eye dramatically altered the course of the fight. The judges saw the bout a split draw, but with Zamudio’s eye injury, Diaz might advance to the finals until Zamudio can be cleared to fight again.

Lennard Davis (1-0-2) of Oakland, CA fought to a draw with Mike Melikyan (1-2-1) of Southern California.

Fernando Caro (2-0) of Richmond, CA outboxed Kaz Barney (0-1) of Stockton, Ca in a heavyweight bout as soundly outpointed his foe.

In the performance of the night Chris Washington (1-0 1KO) knocked out Cesar Lomeli (1-1) by way of third round TKO on his birthday. After the fight Washington thanked his late great coach “Sarge” of Dreamland Boxing.

In a battle of Oakland rivals, Jasper McCargo (2-0-1 2KOs) of Richmond, CA, who trains out of Lightning’s Boxing Club fought to a draw with Stephen Austin (0-0-1) of King’s Boxing Gym.

Iris Contreras (1-0) picked up a solid win over Shurretta Metcalf (1-2) in an exciting bout.

Dalia Gomez (1-1) picked up her first career win as she defeated Leesa Daniel (0-1)

In the opening bout, Jesus Sanchez (2-1 1KO) barely edged out Moris Rodriguez (5-8-1 3KOs)
