Two Northern California boxers did well in their outing in Southern California as top featherweight Ruben Villa (6-0 4KOs) picked up another knockout win as he stopped Anthony Ruiz in the 5th round of a scheduled six round bout as part of Thompson Boxing’s “New Blood” card in Ontario, CA at the DoubleTree Hotel.

Napa, Ca’s Brandon Trejo (1-0) picked up his first career win by besting Pablo Cupul, a game veteran, as Trejo won every round en route to a four round decision.

Other notes from the undercard Erick Ituarte won the NABF junior featherweight title by besting Isaac Zarate via eight round decision in the main event.

Bantamweight Christian Ayala got off the canvas in the first round to recover and score an eight round decision over Ricardo Espinoza.
