Carl Frampton was all set to fight for a WBC featherweight eliminator for the chance to fight Gary Russell Jr on Saturday, July 29th at SSE Arena, Belfast, Northern Ireland which was going to be streamed in the United States via the Showtime Facebook and YouTube pages respectively.

“The Return of the Jackal” was prolonged as he came in at 127 lbs. to face his foe, Andres Gutierrez. Though details are nearly null and void, some are reporting that Gutierrez slipped in the shower, though it seems like a bizarre coincidence.

Nonetheless, the featherweight bout is now canceled.
