Former WBC super featherweight world champion Francisco Vargas walked down a game, but outgunned Rod Salka in the main event of Golden Boy Promotions card taking place from Fantasy Springs in Indio, CA, broadcast worldwide on ESPN2.

Salka spent the whole fight on his back foot with limited success at best as Vargas’ power and aggressiveness was far too much for him. In the fifth round, Salka was sent to the canvas with a right uppercut.

Salka was corner called the bout off at the end of round number six as Francisco Vargas gets the TKO victory.

After the bout, Vargas called out the man who took his world title from him Miguel Berchelt.
