Hank Lundy vs Avery Sparrow – A GREAT FIGHT!
“Hammerin” Hank Lundy is a beloved fighting figure in Philadelphia, known for his no-nonsense attitude, entertaining soundbites, and high level of talent. Lundy, now 35-years-old, has had 37 professional bouts going 231 rounds in total, so it is safe to say he is veteran.
Yet looking at Lundy’s record is deceiving, his losses are to the very top of the division such as Viktor Postol and Terence Crawford, yet his inability to win the major fight and being loyal to his soil of Philadelphia has had his career feel more of a local attraction then it should have been. Lundy is one of the more enjoyable of this generation, and will get to do what he does best on March 15th at The Liacouras Center in Philadelphia — FIGHT!
His opponent is a 130 lbs, Avery Sparrow also from Philly, who in only ten fights, one of which being a loss has a world ranking. Sparrow is a fast-tracked fighter, who has fought on east coast legend Russell Peltz cards for the past few years with his spot on a March 15th DAZN card potentially being his catalyst to bigger paying fights. For Sparrow, this is a big step-up, as he has fought good club level competition, but has never faced the world level tier.
Between the trash talk and the local rivalry, this is looking to be one of the more exciting bouts in the first half of the year.
