Damon Flores, Adrian Torres Win Tournament In Mexico

Damon “Pistol” Flores is turning heads as he picked up another national title at AIBA event in Mexico last weekend, as the Ceres, California native picked up gold in an event that was essentially Mexico versus the United States of America

Flores showed off his boxing skills as the fighters he faced in the tournament were often pressure fighters, as Flores was dominant picking up the win in each of his bouts, as Flores is looking to become one of the most promising up-and-comers out of Northern California, as Flores is winning, and dominating in each age group as he progresses in the amateurs.

Adrian Torres also picked up a title winning his bouts, as the two Northern California fighters made a statement south of the United States border.

Also, at the tournament, Steve Johnson lost in the finals, but nothing about it was fair. From the video I witnessed, I saw Johnson winning a decision, landing the bigger, and cleaner punches. This marks yet another tough break for Steve Johnson this year, but despite that Johnson has kept a very composed, and positive attitude.

National champion Sativa James was also in action, as she was unable to follow up her national championship win with an international win, but earned valuable experienced and faced one of the best fighters in her weight class
