Team Santos has informed ITR Boxing that Albert Ochoa has signed a managerial contract with them. The father-son duo of Bob Santos, the 2022 Ring Magazine Trainer of the Year, and his son Joseph Santos, the youngest manager in boxing, are excited about this signing and cannot wait to see what the future holds.
Ochoa’s initial claim to fame was taking Kylie Jenner to his high school prom. He was featured on Keeping up with the Kardashians and saw his Instagram follower total rise to 229,000. Since then he has joined the fast rising influencer boxing scene and made a name for himself. He started off at 205lbs, has lost over 50lbs in training, and fought around the welterweight limit in his most recent outing. His last fight made major headlines, and was spotlighted by major outlets such as TMZ, Fox, ABC and CNN. He is on a four fight winning streak in the influencer circuit and plans on making his pro debut alongside Team Santos shortly.
After just two years around the sport, he finds himself surrounded by one of the best teams in boxing. Bob Santos has been in the game for years and first started to garner attention as the manager of multi-division champion Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero and is now one of the most well-respected trainers we have today. His son is also among the brightest young minds in the sport, and will be a household name in boxing for a very long time.
Team Santos currently works with a number of elite fighters, including former world champion Mario Barrios, current WBA 130lb champion Hector Luis Garcia, top contender Luis Nunez and current WBA super middleweight titlist David Morrell, who has as high a ceiling as you could possibly have in boxing. Ochoa was also around WBA junior welterweight champion Rolando “Rolly” Romero for his most recent camp. The experience that he has gained and will continue to gain from being around elite fighters will only help him and explains his fast rise.
They have big things planned for Ochoa in the near future, and anticipate him having a Jake Paul type trajectory which sees him headlining massive events. He has both the popularity and athletic ability that can make him a superstar in this new era of boxing. Pairing up with Team Santos is a great move for Albert. They will be able to maximize his boxing ability to the highest potential, and the sky is the limit for this trio.
