FIGHTER TO WATCH: Denys Berinchyk
As we pride ourselves often on, we like to give you insight on up-and-coming fighters beföre you might be aware of them.
So, meet Denys Berinchyk, a Ukrainian being fast-tracked in the lightweight division, who had Aleskander Usyk walk to the ring with him this past weekend.
So why should you care about Berinchyk?
Well, he is a power-puncher who in just ten-fights is fighting top twenty opposition at the world class level. He is also a 2012 Olympic silver medalist as well.
The major flaw so far is he has only fought in Kiev, mostly and we don’t know about many, if any of foes, as they have been the random tough, highly ranked fighters that we don’t have opinions fully formed on.
He is managed and promoted by Alexander Krassyuk, the same man who promotes, Usyk, although Usyk is managed by Egis Klimas.
This past weekend defeated 42 professional fight veteran Nihito Arakawa in Kiev.
As an amateur he holds wins over Anthony Yigit and former world champion Jeff Horn.
I have no clue how good he is, but he will be in the world title picture in the next year and a half.
