The boxers have been announced for the reboot of “The Contender,” beginning August 24 on EPIX. The winner gets $250,000. Welterweight Joseph Elegele (16-2, 11 KOs) upset Phil Lo Greco (27-2, 15 KOs) on Sunday night at the Lakeland Center in Lakeland, Florida. In a fight in which both men stood toe-to-toe and traded Elegele pulled off a solid victory. The judges saw the bout 97-95, 96-94, 96-94  all for Joseph Elegele.
