Shelton, Wash – Dominic Wade (18-0 12 KOs) won a ten round split decision over former middleweight champion Sam Soliman (44-13 18KOs) on Friday’s ShoBox card from Little Creek Casino in Shelton, Washington. The fight was not the prettiest thing to watch as Soliman’s awkward style played a central theme in the fight as neither fighter seemed to find a tempo that would produce a fan friendly fight or for that matter, action as a whole.

The fourth round saw accredited with a controversial knock down as it looked like Soliman’s awkward blitzing style rushing in and a Wade push was more to credit for the knockdown, but it was nonetheless still ruled a knockdown. In the end, Wade won by a close margin with the scores 97-92, 95-94 Wade and 96-93 Soliman.

Soliman has already began to hit multiple media outlets about robbery, but the truth is the fight was ugly and a rematch would probably merit more of the same.

In undercard action, super welterweight Erickson “The Hammer” Lubin (11-0, 8 KOs) scored a first round KO over Ayi Bruce (23-10, 15 KOs). Lubin brutalized Bruce who he sent to the canvas two times and looked to be levels above. Lubin who was being touted as U.S. Olympic hopeful turned pro forgoing the Olympics shocking many as some felt he was the U.S. best shot at a medal.

Unbeaten heavyweight Oscar “Kaboom” Rivas (17-0, 12 KOs) scored a first round KO over Jason Pettaway (17-3, 10 KOs). Also Bay Area inhabitant, Levan ‘The Wolf’ Ghvamichava (12-1-1 6KOs) stopped Cosme Rivera in the fifth round on the un-televised portion of the card.
