Canelo, Cotto agree on weight, venue not set

WBC and lineal middleweight champion Miguel Cotto (40-4, 33 KO’s) and Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (45-1-1, 32 KO’s) have allegedly come to terms upon the highly sought after bout that will take place in November. As reported last night by ESPN.com, the fight is agreed upon in principle at 155 lbs., five below the middleweight limit, but in the range both Canelo and Cotto find favorable.

The bout is currently being debated now over a date and a venue. Currently The Thomas & Mack Center is the front runner to land the event with November 7th or November 21st as the date the bout will be contested. Many insiders have speculated that the November 21st date is the most likely at this point.
