Broner-Provodnikov to counter program Matthysse fight?

The rumor was hot last night, but the buzz kicked into overdrive when an “official looking” poster was posted on Ruslan Provodnikov’s Facebook page showing him facing Adrien Broner. Provodnikov who is coming off a loss to Lucas Matthysse would according to the poster face Broner on October 3rd, the same day Lucas Matthysse would face Viktor Postol for WBC junior welterweight title.

Provodnikov was in his last fight on his contract with HBO with his bout with Lucas Matthysse and is signed to Banner Promotions, a promoter who has worked with the Al Haymon boxing entity, Premier Boxing Champions, earlier this year with Chris Algieri facing Amir Khan. The fight is not confirmed, but seems to be very far along in discussions as multiple fighters close to the situation who spoke on the terms of anonymity feel that that the bout is all, but a done deal.

The alleged fight would take place in prime time on NBC and take place in either Cincinatti, Ohio or Las Vegas, NV.
