Terence Crawford focused on Dierry Jean for October clash
WBO jr welterweight champion Terence “Bud” Crawford had the media pretty much to himself on Monday when his October 24 challenger Dierry “Dougy Style” Jean was a no-show at the kickoff press conference. It was explained that Canadian Jean was unable to find his passport and could not enter the U.S. for the press event in Omaha, Nebraska.
Terence Crawford:
It’s gonna be a fun one. I could see it now. He’s a good fighter. I take nothing away from any fighter. October 24th I’ll be 100% ready, probably more than 100%. But mark my words. He will lose. And I’m not just talking. I’m serious.
Carl Moretti:
This will be Terence’s first defense of his title at 140 pounds, we all know he was the lightweight champion of the world. He’s been to the ESPYs, he’s been to a bunch of premieres. And when you really look at it, the American landscape of boxing is Floyd Mayweather, who will be done fighting in September, there’s Andre Ward those career is somewhat stagnated, and then there’s Terence Crawford. What that means is Terence Crawford is the best American fighter and soon to be maybe the best fighter in the world. On October 24th, we’ll get our answer again inside the ring because the only one who can do the talking is Terence. He doesn’t take anybody lightly. He knows he’s got a big “X” on his chest because you beat Terence Crawford you made yourself a name. He’s not ready to let that happen yet.
Terence Crawford co-manager/trainer Brian “BoMac” McIntyre:
This what I think about Dierry Jean. He’s going to be no factor in this fight…Dierry Jean is a solid opponent, but he opened his mouth and asked for this fight. He might as well asked for a can of ‘whoop ass.’ Terence is gonna do him in. Watch.
