Daniel Jacobs to defend WBA middleweight title against Peter Quillin December 5th.

The battle of Brooklyn happened a while ago with Paulie Malignaggi defeating Zab Judah in a bout that proclaimed Brooklyn’s king. Now, we have yet another battle taking place between both Brooklyn son’s, WBA middleweight champion Daniel Jacobs and former WBO middleweight champion Peter Quillin.

The fight, which was demanded for sometime now was in hot negotiations following Jacobs win over Sergio Mora in August, and Quillin’s recent win on PBC. Not too long ago at the Sands Casino in Bethlehem, PA where Fox Sports 1 was hosting a PBC event headlined by Julian Williams, Jacobs was doing commentary as well as post fight interviews. After the event, Jacobs stated in an interview that the fight was not “official” but was in negotiations.

“The fight isn’t official because we haven’t gotten contracts yet, but I’m positive it will be.”

Jacobs was then asked from a scale of 1-10 how close it was to be done, to which he said, “Oh definitely a 9. Definitely a 9, we’re just waiting on contracts, we have the same manager so I don’t see why it wont be done.”

A week later now, Jacobs takes to his Instagram to post that the fight is good to go.

“This born breaded Brooklynknight is coming for the Crown!” Posted Jacobs. “Mark your calendars your so not gonna wanna miss this 1!”

The fight is penciled in for December 5th at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, where now the 2nd “battle for Brooklyn” will take place.

We will keep you posted as more details become available.
