In a shameful display by the WBO championship committee voted to strip WBO junior featherweight champion Guillermo Rigondeaux of his world championship. Rigondeaux, who this author considers the best boxer alive currently, has been in promotional malpractice for the past year and a half as his promoter, Caribe Promotions, have been potentially overvaluing the monetary value of the fighter and not leveraging a fight to keep the champ active.

The committee stripped the fighter in their terms due to “extraordinary inactivity”. Rigondeaux has not defended his belt since December of last year.
