Per Dan Rafael, Gary Russell Jr. will not be making his first title defense of the WBC featherweight title after suffering a cut in a camp. The bout which was scheduled to take place November 14th at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, NV in which he would make his first defense against Oscar Escandon.

The card will be still be broadcast on Showtime, but now will be changed from a “Showtime Championship Boxing” production to a “ShoBox: Special Edition”. This means that basically Showtime wants to distinguish that this is not a premium card, but still wants to broadcast the card.
