Zou Shiming attracted an enormous audience of 36.5 million viewers in his bout in mainland China this past weekend. The January 30 live telecast, which emanated from the Shanghai Oriental Sports Center in Shanghai, China, boasted 6.5 million viewers who watched on television on CCTV 5 and 30 million viewers who saw the fights via live stream. Over 12,000 fans were on hand to see it live.

This furthers the fact that despite some glaring holes in Shiming’s game, Shiming is a star in China and continues to draw astronomical numbers in terms of television ratings.
