*MIKE “YES INDEED” REED RETURNS FEBRUARY 27 AT THE GARDEN!*

Reed targets win #18 against Mexico’s Marco Antonio Lopez on the HBO Boxing undercard, to be held at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
WASHINGTON, D.C., U.S.A. – On Saturday night, February 27, 2016, twenty-three year-old Top Rank light welterweight professional boxer, Mike “Yes Indeed” Reed (Washington, D.C./Waldorf, MD/pro record: 17-0-0, 10 KOs) will take on Marco Antonio Lopez (San Luis Potosi, Mexico/pro record: 24-8-0, 15 KOs) in an 8-round fight on the HBO World Championship Boxing card, held at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The HBO Boxing card, featuring Reed-Lopez, is promoted by Top Rank, in association with Jimmy Burchfield’s Classic Entertainment & Sports (CES), Diamante Promotions, and Madison Square Garden. The main event will feature Terence Crawford defending his WBO World Super Lightweight Title against Henry Lundy, and in the co-main event, Felix Verdejo will defend his WBO Latino Lightweight Title against William Silva.
In his most recent fight on November 7, 2015, at The Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, Reed defeated Minnesota’s Rondale Hubbert by TKO in Round 7 (bout was scheduled for 8 rounds). Reed dominated the fight, as he landed a variety of body shots and jabs on Hubbert. In round 7, Reed caught a charging Hubbert with a quick right hook, which dropped him to the canvas. Hubbert beat the count, but then Reed backed him up against the ropes with a barrage of punches and then caught him with a powerful left hand. Hubbert slumped motionless against the ropes, forcing referee Kenny Bayless to stop the action at 1:28 of Round 7. Reed remained undefeated, while Hubbert’s record dropped to 10-4-1, with 6 KOs.
Reed is excited about returning to Madison Square Garden to face Lopez. He said, “Some fighters never get the opportunity to fight at The Garden, but this will be my second time fighting there, and that’s a beautiful thing. My opponent, Lopez, has lots of experience against strong opposition, he’s a crafty counter-puncher, and he has good offensive capabilities. I expect him to be prepared, and of course, I will be as well. Some of the things we worked on this camp was starting faster and continuing to dominate throughout the entire fight. I also worked on setting up my punches. My team will have a very good game plan for this fight, and we plan to put on a great show on February 27. The year 2015 was great for me, as I finished the year with five more wins, winning four by knockout. Every fight gets tougher, and it probably will stay that way as I build on the road to the title. In my opinion, Terence Crawford and Adrien Broner are the leaders of my division, and my goal is to compete for the top spots very soon.”
He continued, “I want to thank my promotional company, Top Rank, for continuing to do a great job moving me. Thanks to them, I am starting to hear my name mentioned with the elite fighters in my division, and in the sport. Thanks to my dad, Buck Pinson, who is also my manager and trainer, for pushing me and motivating me in ways no one else can. Thank you to Shane Goodell, Nike Boxing/Athlete Performance Solutions, and Everlast for making me look good while I’m working.”
