Thurman-Porter postponed due to car accident
The biggest fight of the winter is not happening for the time being as undefeated world champion Keith Thurman suffered a neck injury during a car accident that will push back his title defense for Shawn Porter. The announcement made yesterday by promoter, Lou DiBella, explained that though the injuries were not serious, Thurman experienced discomfort and was unable to continue training for the time being.
Thurman-Porter was scheduled to fight on CBS as part of Showtime Championship Boxing on network television, that featured Abner Mares and Edwin Rodriguez in the two separate fights on the undercard. The card will now be rescheduled and/or moved out of prime time.
