Richard Schaefer returns to boxing, starts RingStar Promotions

Richard Schaefer, The man responsible for much of the upswing in momentum at Golden Boy Promotions in the early part of the decade is now back after an 18 month absence as Schaefer returns with a new promotional entity.
Schaefer who has been absent from the boxing landscape since a bitter split with Golden Boy Promotions, a company he worked as CEO for since 2000.
In an article in which he gave quotes to Yahoo! Sports writer Kevin Iole, he explained that he is happy to be back in the boxing game and says that boxing has missed someone like himself. Most notable he didn’t rule out working with Top Rank and Bob Arum stating that the cold war between Top Rank and Golden Boy hurt a lot of big fights from happening
Schaefer hopes to promote some Premier Boxing Champions shows as well as his own in house shows. As of right now, no boxers are signed to his promotion
