Shafikov upsets Olympian, Szymanski win on ESPN

In front of a packed house on Saturday night at the Santander Arena in Reading, Pennsylvania,Denis Shafikov (36-2-1 19KOs) overwhelmed a seemingly green former U.S. Olympian Jamel Herring (15-1 8KOs) on ESPN. Herring used his distance okay at the start of the fight, but couldn’t sustain it as Shafikov dropped him in the second. The fight was stopped in tenth round by Herring’s corner. This was the biggest win of Shafikov career.

In the opening bout super welterweight Patryk Szymanski (16-0, 9 KOs)  defeated a game challenger in Wilky Campfort (21-3, 12 KOs). The fight was a bit closer than it should of been with Campfort losing the first four rounds easily even being hurt badly. In the middle rounds, Campfort was able to close distance and make it a closer fight. The judges saw the bout  98-92, 99-91, 99-91 for Szymanski.
