A lot can happen in a week….
Another Summerslam week has come and gone! Some people loved it, same hated it, but it was a damn good time to be a fan!
Leading up to Summerslam, the unfortunate news broke that Alberto Del Rio, Paige, and Eva Marie all violated The Wellness Policy, and were suspended for 30 days.
Saturday we had NXT Takeover: Brooklyn 2, and what a show it was!
-Hideo Itami appeared and set up a feud with Austin Aries.
-Ember Moon (Athena) Debuted
-Bobby Roode made a GLORIOUS NXT debut.
-The Revival, Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano put on not only one of the greatest tag matches in a LONG time, also a match of the year candidate.
-Bayley said her goodbyes to NXT
-Shinsuke Nakamura became the NXT Champion after an epic match with Samoa Joe!
Sunday night was our main event! Summerslam!
-Regardless of the winner, Sasha Banks and Charlotte put on a great match, and thankfully Sasha won’t require surgery.
-John Stewart helped The New Day retain, putting The New Day’s Tag Title run over a year!
– Nikki Bella returned
-Dean Ambrose retained in a solid match with Ziggler
– Finn Balor became the first ever Universal Champion!
-Brock Lesnar defeated Randy Orton by TKO in the most controversial finish in a LONG time, leaving us questioning whether it was scripted or not, also leading to an altercation between Jericho and Lesnar backstage.
-Finn Balor relinquished the Universal Title due to injury.
– Big Cass gets put in his first WWE title match… not holding my breath but it’s still a great way to test the waters.
– The Dudley’s ended their WWE run, also put Gallows and Anderson over on the way out.
– Bayley made her long awaited main roster debut to a HUGE pop.
-Smackdown debuted their Women’s AND Tag Titles.
-Heath Slater delivered as usual.
– Carmella and Nikki Bella made a double turn!
– AJ Styles defeated Ziggler in a PPV-Quality match
The Miz delivered the promo of his career on Talking Smack! leaving many of us in question as to whether it was a work, shoot, or worked-shoot?
