Lara stops Foreman, Dirrell gets rust off in TKO win
WBA super welterweight world champion Erislandy Lara (24-2-2, 14 KOs) wasted little time in picking upa fourth round KO over former world champion Yuri Foreman (34-3, 10 KOs) on Friday night at Hialeah Park Racing and Casino in Miami, Florida. Foreman fared well at the start of the bout, but had no answer after getting dropped in the third round. Lara would land a left uppercut and knockout Foreman in the fourth round.
After the bout, Lara stated he wanted Gennady Golovkin or a rematch with Canelo Alvarez.
After the fight, Lara called out Golovkin and Canelo by name, saying he wants the best in the division.
Former WBC super middleweight champion Anthony Dirrell (29-1-1, 24 KOs) scored a sixth round TKO over Norbert Nemesapati (24-4, 17 KOs) in a very one-sided bout.
Former WBA bantamweight champion Juan Carlos Payano (18-1, 9 KOs) scored a seventh round TKO over Isao Gonzalo Carranza (15-8-1, 8 KOs) in the television swing bout.
