David Benavidez Stops Porky Medina in eight
Super middleweight David Benavidez (18-0 17KOs) cemented himself as a world title contender by defeating game veteran threat to all in the division Rogelio “Porky” Medina (37-8 31KOs) in the main event of a Premier Boxing Champions card from the Laredo Energy Arena in Laredo, Texas.
Benavidez dropped Medina in the fourth and sixth round with the end coming in the eighth.
Benavidez is now a mandatory for the vacant WBC super middleweight title that was vacated by Badou Jack, who left the division to go to light heavyweight after battling to a draw with James DeGale.
