Northern California Prospect of the Year: Pedro Moreno

Sacramento, CA’s Pedro Moreno might not be signed to a major promoter [yet], but he does have power and a lot of it. The lightweight who trains with Marcus Caballero has built up a record of 7-0 with 5KOs and things seem to be moving well as Moreno is not the slickest fighter, but gives a heck of a punch, one in which you have to be pretty darn tough to try and outbox him.

Moreno fought three times this year twice on Top Rank affiliated shows and once for Don Chargin and Paco Damian in Woodland, CA, he recently signed with a new management team, CB Boxing, after his longtime manager Herb Stone passed away this year. Moreno was supposed to fight in December on his first card with the management team, but an illness pulled him from the bout last minute.

Moreno is traditional Mexican fighter in the sense he is constant pressure with a high workrate and heavy hands.
