Isaac Zarate, Ruben Villa win in Ontario, Ca

In the main event, Isaac Zarate picked up an eight-round decision over Christian Ayala in front of a packed house at The DoubleTree in Ontario, CA. The fight saw Zarate control the action, but seemingly slow towards the later rounds as Ayala’s pressure presented problems.

The judges scored the bout 78-74, 77-75 and 77-75.

The original main event was going to be Erick Ituarte vs. Jose Ramirez, but Ramirez missed weight the day prior and the bout was called off the day of the event.

Featherweight Ruben Villa defeated Juan Sandoval by way of a six-round decision. The judges scored the bout 60-54, 59-55 and 59-55 all for Villa.

Lightweight Zhora Hamazaryan picked up a four-round decision over Sergio Ramirez Martinez. The judges scored the bout 40-35, 39-36 and 39-36. Martinez was dropped in the second round.

Bantamweight Saul Sanchez cruised to a four-round decision over Pedro Melo with the judges scoring the bout 40-36.

Bantamweight Mario Hernandez picked up a first-round KO of Jorge Careaga. Hernandez dropped Careaga twice, the second time the count was waived off.

In the opening bout, featherweight Ruben Torres defeated Anthony de Jesus Ruiz Sanchez when Sanchez’s corner stopped the bout at the end of the second round. Torres dropped Sanchez multiple times and lost a point for hitting Sanchez when he was down.
