Flyweight Jonathan “Bomba” Gonzalez (20-2-1, 12 KOs) scored a razor-thin ten round split decision over  Ricardo “Meserito” Rodriguez (16-6, 5 KOs) on Friday night at the Osceola Heritage Park Events Center in Kissimmee, Florida.

The bout is the early contender for fight of the year although the obscurity of it may hurt its chances of winning such an award. Gonzalez knocked down  Rodriguez in round three which was the deciding moment of the fight. The judges saw the bout 95-94 Gonzalez, 96-93 Gonzalez, 95-94 Rodriguez.

2016 Rio Olympians Antonio Vargas (6-0, 3 KOs) also picked up a win on the undercard.
