Joe Frazier gets a street named after him in Philadelphia

The city of Philadelphia has always been a boxing city and its lineage with boxing only is furthered now after Hall of Fame boxing heavyweight Smokin’ Joe Frazier was recently honored with a street named after him.
Frazier, a power-punching pressure fighter, who was one of the best of his era, compiling only four losses in his career as Frazier lost twice to Muhammad Ali and twice to George Foreman. Joe Frazier passed away November 7th, 2011, essentially seven years ago.
Representing Frazier was his family and heavyweight Larry Holmes, who attended the renaming ceremony as Glenwood Avenue in North Philadelphia will now be Smokin” Joe Frazier Boulevard.
