Hard luck fighter Farmer wins first world title this morning

Tevin Farmer now has a new title to add to his name, IBF junior lightweight champion after he defeated Billy Dib via a wide decision in Australia.

The fight played out like as Farmer had of hoped as Dib just didn’t have anything to really impact Farmer’s movement as Farmer still has appeared to have the kryptonite of not packing much power on his punch, but if you allow him to slap you around all-night he will be quite comfortable doing so.

The story was hurt warming though as Farmer started his career 7-4-1 and worked his way back up and won a world title. In the process, he was shot defending his title and also lost (in my opinion) a fair decision by not throwing enough punches at the end of the fight.

It appeared Farmer’s previous loss at the world championship level helped him though as he left nothing on the table taking the belt from former world champion Dib.

After the bout, Dib retired.
