Oscar De La Hoya to Dana White “Boxing rejected him..”
Yesterday, Dana White took shots at Oscar De La Hoya for Golden Boy Promotions’ first mixed martial arts card they promoted feature one-time stars Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz in a trilogy bout of their epic rivalry. Sadly, the 48-year-old Liddell looked nothing like what he did in his prime and was brutally knocked out by younger and more coordinated Tito Ortiz.
As we reported yesterday, White took shots at De La Hoya calling him a drug addict.
Well, TMZ Sports caught up with De La Hoya who took aim at the UFC head honcho, Dana White.
“Dana is so small and threatened by our success with DAZN and now in MMA that he is bringing up news from a decade ago to try to stay relevant,” De La Hoya told TMZ Sports.
De La Hoya was also referencing Canelo Alvarez signing a five-year, eleven fight deal worth 365 million that will also allow Golden Boy Promotions to promote shows on the new streaming service.
De La Hoya also added
“Boxing has entirely rejected him. And, MMA fighters are now realizing they don’t have to risk their lives just so he can get rich. Golden Boy and I are moving forward and are bigger than ever. Dana should shut the f*** up and try to figure out how to save his own company.”
A shot at the fact that White had plans of forming Zuffa Boxing, which to this date his never materialized.
Nonetheless, the two do not like each other and will take shots at one and another, over and over again.
