2018 Knockout of the Year: Naoya Inoue KOs Payano

[THIS VIDEO WAS NOT UPLOADED BY US, BUT IS ON YOUTUBE AND LINKED TO THE EXACT VIDEO ON ANOTHER SITE.]

“The Monster” Naoya Inoue is already a top 5 pound-for-pound fighter, but the sense is that once he comes to North America it is only a matter of time before people understand just how truly good he is. Inoue knocked out two world champions in less than a round, and the one against Juan Carlos Payano is one for the ages.

Inoue landed two punches in the fight, a jab and a right, he was a 100% in terms of punch stats and his first power punch knocked out Payano. Payano a world level fighter was treated like a journeyman as Inoue became a three-division world champion and one of the future faces of boxing.

Had Inoue found himself in one more bout, he would have been a serviceable vote for fight of the year.
