This past weekend in Reno, Nevada, USA Boxing held the western qualifiers for the Olympic Games, which is a national tournament. In December of last year, the one and two seeds were decided by those who made it to the finals and the winner of the tourney, the three and four seeds were solidified in the elite divisions.

Those winning their tournaments were elite men 138 lbs Charlie Sheehy of Brisbane, Ca, elite female 112 lbs Mariana Gonzalez of Sunnyvale, California and 165 lbs Alexis Gomez of San Francisco, CA.

Those who lost in the final, but recorded a birth in the Olympic Trials are EM 125 lbs Kevin Montano of Concord, Ca, EF 125 lbs Lupe Gutierrez of Sacramento, Ca and EF 141 lbs. Heaven Burdett of Castro Valley, Ca.
