DAY ONE OLYMPIC TRIALS RESULTS & FUTURE BOUTS – CARRINGTON BEATS RAGAN

The first day of the U.S. Olympic Trials is now in the books, and despite no live stream due to rights issues, the action was filled with a lot of drama.

Keep in mind this is a double-elimination tournament.

A few upsets occurred that should make noise as three number one seeds lost on the first day of the tournament. 114 lbs Michael Angeletti lost to Anthony Olascuaga, Olascuaga was the last person to qualify for the event, finishing as a runner-up at the Last Chance Qualifier. One of the favorites at 125 lbs, Duke Ragan lost to Bruce Carrington in the best bout of the first day, Carrington, who fought at the 2016 Trials is off to a hot start. Also in the heavyweight division, Darius Fulghum defeated top seed, Adrian Tillman, as well as Lavars Carter beat Freudis Rojas.
