Collazo, Ruiz Make Weight For ProBox TV Fight

Luis Collazo and Angel Ruiz Astorga both came in below the 154lbs limit ahead of their super welterweight clash tomorrow night live on ProBox TV.

Collazo (39-8, 20 KOs) came in under a pound lighter than the ordered limit, the former WBA Welterweight World champion weighed in at 152.6 lbs

Ruiz Astorga (17-2-1, 7 KOs) hit the scales bang on the limit. The Californian came in exactly at 154lbs ahead of the 10-round main event in Plant City, Florida. 

“I’m back and bringing everything.” Collazo said moments after weighing in. “I’m not as old as you think I am. One of the very few times I’ve actually managed to get in a great camp. Nice to get some notice ahead of a fight for a change.”

Prince Dzanie (23-0, 19 KOs) and José Salas Reyes (11-0, 9 KOs) both came in on the agreed limit ahead of their super bantamweight clash on the televised undercard. Both men came in at precisely 121.8 lbs and both combatants will put their undefeated records on the line in the 10-round co-feature. 

In another undefeated clash, Vadim Musaev (5-0, 2 KOs) and Martin Alvarez Miranda (7-0, 6 KOs) came up a few pounds apart in their welterweight clash. Musaev hit the scales at 147.2 lbs and Miranda came in nearly three pounds heavier at 150.8 lbsThe pair meet over 8 rounds to start the televised broadcast.

The all-star commentary team consists of former world champions Paulie Malignaggi and Chris Algieri alongside Mike Goldberg in English. The Spanish-speaking team will consist of Claudia Trejos and hall-of-famer Juan Manuel Márquez.
