Diego De La Hoya no longer fighting Saturday after weight cut scare
Super bantamweight Diego De La Hoya will not be in action on Saturday night in his native Mexicali on a card Golden Boy Promotions largely put together to promote the young fighter.
According to ESPN Deportes, the fighter fainted while training to make weight for his bout that takes place on Saturday. After news of this broke, De La Hoya was promptly pulled from the card as medical services were called.
The co-main eventer, Seniesa “Superbad” Estrada is more than likely the headliner for the card now.
Diego De La Hoya is the cousin of ten-time world champion Oscar De La Hoya, who also happens to be his promoter.
