Joe Joyce stops Joe Hanks in one round for PPV opener

2016 Olympic super heavyweight silver medalist Joe Joyce (7-0  7KOs) made short work of Joe Hanks in the television opener of the pay-per-view portion of the card from The Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA.

Joyce dominated the whole bout, but showed his kind heart as he had Hanks hurt bad and didn’t throw a punch after a jab had Hanks in a bad way he stepped back, thinking the referee might call the bout, but the ref didn’t. A few seconds later, Joyce’s signature left hook landed and put Hanks to sleep.

Joyce is trained by Abel Sanchez in Big Bear Lake, Ca and is managed by Sam Jones.

With the win, Joyce gets the vacant World Boxing Association Continental Heavyweight Title.

This was Joyce’s fourth first-round knockout.

After the bout, Joyce said the following

“I am ready for anyone, I just ready for anyone!” said Joyce after the fight.

“I want to get some bigger fights, I am ready!”
