Manuel “Tino” Avila vs. Joet Gonzalez in the works for July 13th, Golden Boy card
Featherweight Manuel “Tino” Avila of Fairfield, California will make his return to the ring against Joet Gonzalez of Los Angeles, California, which will end up on the Golden Boy Promotions card headlined by WBC super bantamweight champion Rey Vargas looking to make the fifth defense of his world title against Tomoki Kameda at the Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California on Saturday, July 13th.
Avila, who is coming off a lackluster draw against Jose Santos Gonzalez in March will look to find himself back in title contention as he has only fought two times since facing Joseph Diaz Jr. on pay-per-view in May of 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Gonzalez is considered a blue-chip prospect with an undefeated record of twenty wins, thirteen of which coming by way of knockout, had questions arise during his close fight with world title contender Rafael Rivera.
The card is also rumored to have Diego De La Hoya facing Ronny Rios as well.
