Toscano Boxing Promotions out of Stockton, California, which looks to be making in-roads in Mexico, as one of the premier promoters, put on the biggest card of their boxing promoting careers, with “Tribute To The Kings”, a PPV that was headlined between Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. vs Hector Camacho Jr, looking to cash-in on the nostalgia, which has made Triller such a force, by putting on fights with fighters from our youth, 20-years later.

I won’t comment on the exhibition as it was, what it was, and served the purpose to see Chavez Sr, even at an older state of himself, beat someone up. Albeit seeing Camacho Jr., and Chavez Sr, throw off the headgear, only to be told to put it back on between rounds three and four was amusing. Then to see Canelo walk into the ring, and corner Chavez just adding to the anarchy.

The most meaningful bout was former UFC middleweight world champ Anderson Silva, who defeated Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., in a sanctioned eight-round bout in Jalisco Stadium in Guadalajara, Mexico. 

The win certainly will open the doors for Anderson Silva to box Roy Jones Jr., something he has stated he wants to do for over a decade.

The judges saw the bout 77-75 on all three cards, and with two of the three giving it to the UFC legend, Silva.

The day prior Chavez Jr. missed weight and had to give a healthy sum of his funds to Silva.
