Boxing returns to Oakland June 11th
Boxing returns to Oakland, CA on June 11th as Osric Pratt Presents “Unfinished Business: pro boxing, Juneteenth festival and bike show” with the boxing card being put together by Andy Nance. The card which takes place outdoors at the historic 16th street station 1601 Wood street in Oakland, CA with first the festival starting at 2PM and first bell at 6PM.
The professional boxer card is headlined by WBC U.S. middleweight champion Tony Hirsch (20-6-2 8KOs) of Oakland, CA defending his belt blocks away from the gym he trains at daily. The co-main event will feature WBO women’s flyweight champion Melissa McMorrow (10-5-3 1KO) defending her WBO title for the first time in the Bay Area.
In a rematch of a competitive fight from year’s past super flyweight Bruno Escalante (14-2-1 6KOs) will face Mike Ruiz Jr (10-4-2 4KOs). Popular San Francisco, CA junior middleweight Ricardo Pinell (12-2-1 6KOs) who recently sparred Andre Berto and Willie Nelson for their respective bouts will return to action. Junior middleweight Aaron Coley (13-1-1 6KOs) from Hayward, CA will make his case for a regional title as he fights close to home.
Rounding out the card is Mr.EBS (Everybody sleeps) Otis “O.T.” Seymore (5-0 5KOs) bringing his popular style to the Bay Area, decorated amateur Jasper McCargo will make his pro debut. The card will open with a cruiserweight bout between Andres Salas (1-0 1KO) of Ring of Fire taking on Sacramento, CA’s Blake McKernan (2-0 1KO).
