Carl Frampton headlines July 18th card in Texas

Carl Frampton will be making his U.S. debut as he will bring his perfect record state side to take on Alejandro Gonzalez Jr. in Don Haskins Center in El Paso, Texas. The bout is sort of a letdown for most hardcore boxing fans following the 122 lbs. champ as some consider him the biggest talent that division.

Frampton was last in action stopping Chris Avalos in February via fifth round stoppage in a bout that many felt was dangerous as Chris Avalos has a high output and knockout percentage.

In the co-main event, Cornelius Bundrage squares up with Texas native Jermall Charlo (21-0, 16 KOs) in a IBF junior middleweight title fight.

For Bundrage, the 42 year-old alum of ‘The Contender’ show, this will be his first defense of the title since defeating Carlos Molina in Mexico last year.
