Demetrius Andrade in danger of being stripped by WBO
The WBO is unhappy with jr middleweight champion Demetrius “Boo Boo” Andrade who has not defended his belt since last year against Brian Rose and now want an explanation as to why the belt should not be vacated. Andrade potentially the most talented junior middleweight by most accounts has been unable to find a satisfactory bout to his liking in the past 13 months as well. In that time bouts with Jermall Charlo and Anthony Mundine have been rumored, but never came to fruition .
Below is the statement from WBO World Championship Committee Chairman Luis Batista Salas to the Andrade camp:
“…the WBO has been more than lenient with Mr. Andrade, but he has clearly been inactive and the WBO must enforce its rules. For this reason please be advised that you have a period of ten (10) days upon receipt of this communication to show cause as to why Mr. Andrade has not defended his belt under the terms of the Championship Regulations. Failure to comply with this requirement will immediately result in the WBO Jr. Middleweight Title being declared vacant, without further hearing you.”
